Beto O’Rourke rolls out climate plan with $1.5 trillion federal investment

Former Rep. Beto O’Rourke on Monday rolled out his most ambitious policy proposal to date, calling for the US to invest $5 trillion over the next decade. As per his campaign, if elected, O’Rourke would take a series of executive actions aimed at reducing pollution across all sectors of the US economy starting on his first day in office.

$1.5-$5 trillion through executive "actions" to fight "pollution" and "climate change" alone. Let's do a sanity check. If you think this is dumb, dangerous and result in huge tax increases for everyone, loos of jobs, destruction of whole sectors of industry etc etc like this comment, if you agree with Robert Francis O’Rourke leave an angry comment as a response.

So the Democrats will waste $5 trillion on a fictional problem? That sounds like such a good idea!

I don't buy the cost outrage seeing as how we just cut taxes by 1.5 trillion, most of which was for the ultra rich.

He is just trying to have some concrete policies involved instead of just talking points. I am glad he is at least tackling the problem head on and making it a central point in his campaign but.... Bernie 2020

Serious thought and consideration needs to be invested into why the sudden refocus on climate change as if Al Gore had been correct about anything. Always at the expense of the American people. Crisis>reaction>expensive solution>life for middle class still gets worse.

5 billion for the border? No, beta bitch with the fake Hispanic name wants to dear down existing walls! 5 trillion for fuck all? Sure, it's not like China and India are actually producing next to all the pollution. When GDP per Capita gets to about 5K, people start caring about pollution.

Any proposed climate plan needs to be pragmatic and scientifically literate, not idealistic. Beto said he contacted several individuals, but does he have a list of those individuals or what they told him? Some of the ways to address this issue are legitimate; others are a bit too idealistic with the current state of the country, the costs, and/or the timeframe.

A completely arbitrary number with no proposal of what you’re actually going to do with it. I heard Dr. O’Rourke’s first proposal was... One MILLION DOLLARS!
