DHS to start DNA testing to establish family relationships on the border

The DHS said Wednesday that migrants attempting to cross the US-Mexico border with children will be asked to submit to a voluntary DNA test in order to prove they are related. The pilot program could be set up as soon as next week, but no details were provided of which locations the tests would take place at. DHS officials said the testing won’t be used as evidence in any criminal case.
