Two judges shot after argument in parking lot of Indianapolis White Castle

Two judges were shot Wednesday in the parking lot of a White Castle in downtown Indianapolis after an argument with strangers. Clark County, Indiana, Circuit Judges Brad Jacobs and Drew Adams were in Indianapolis to attend a judicial conference. Police said there was no evidence they were targeted because they are judges. Jacobs was in critical condition and Adams in stable condition.

Let me read this between the lines and give you the full story. Two judges were on a publicly funded business trip, one they take together each year for the last 5 years. It was around 330 in the morning, they had been hitting the bars and had been drinking, and they were with two local women who were definitely not their wives, and possibly prostitutes. They went from bar to bar until the bars closed, and ended up outside a fast food restaurant, when they were approached by some local thugs. Feeling cocksure of themselves, and being used to always talking down to criminals from the judge's bench, they talked tough and threatened legal action, allowing the alcohol to do too much of the talking for them. One thing led to another and the assailants pulled out their guns and shot them - not really wanting to kill them (after all the women who were with them and witnessed everything were left unharmed) but more as a show of bravado. Knowing their way around the law, they were very careful about what they disclosed to the police (and to the press), omitting any details that wuld have incriminated them.
