Nurse in contemporary uniform told her London Marathon record is invalid

Nurse in contemporary uniform told her London Marathon record is invalid

Jessica Anderson, a nurse, wanted to beat the Guinness world’s record for running the London Marathon in a nurse’s uniform. The rules state that one must wear a Victorian era uniform. But the nurse did not want to wear that, so wore her scrubs. Guinness was forced to invalidate the entry. She believes it is sexist, seemly unaware that the rules are set to be fair to past nurses.

Or she could have looked at the actual record requirements before running. We get it. You wear pants. Congrats.

If you’re going to try and set a record based on a specific dress code, then it might be prudent to confirm what the actual dress code is before you make the attempt. Hopefully GWR stick to their decision.

Interesting. If you change the standards it creates a whole new metric and unfairly disadvantages the past records. I’m gonna have to say she should have checked on the record qualifications and followed them before making her attempt.

It seems to me that if I were going to try to break a world record for running in some sort of costume, I would look at the requirements for that record. Alistair Smith (UK), 2016 Virgin Money London Marathon. He won the male nurse marathon time in a cheap looking Halloween nurse costume. Don't play if you can't play by the rules.

I mean, she still ran the race and won, I guess she didn’t follow that rule but it’s not like trousers are an advantage, ironically probably the opposite. She ran from start to finish... so officially the person behind her now won but like could you imagine being either one of those people? She probably doesn’t care what they say officially and let’s be real, shouldn’t. And the person behind her knows they’re second best but got the medal as a second place technicality. Yay for everyone feeling like shit lmao

okay, but how is this now the world record for someone wearing scrubs?

Who cares for such a stupid world "record"?

It's OK to wear pants. One day those who rejected her could be rejected to be helped by a nurse wearing pants.

Obviously a dress is much harder to run in, but they just have to create a new record called "fastest marathon in a contemporary nurse's uniform." Of course some sjw will run naked in 2040 and complain that it's unfair they're not counted in the record, because nudists will become another protected class, no doubt.

*the amount of sexism in society is appalling* If only i read the rules of the record. but no sexism everywhere

There is a lot you coudl say about validity of past records or making a new category of dress code for modern nurses ect ect... but actually who really gives a damn about this "news" story???? It matters so little right now.

redSiken 1 year

Wait, so her record is denied because she wore her modern day nurse dress instead of the old fashioned one? What a stupid rule
