Biden seeks $80B to boost IRS enforcement

According to the NYT, President Biden is seeking an extra $80B to fund enhanced IRS enforcement of high-earners to help pay for his American Families Plan. The administration believes the enhanced measures to crack down on tax evasion will increase revenue by $700B. Last week, plans were outlined to increase taxes on the wealthy, raising the top marginal income tax rate and capital gains.

Biden the great destroyer of families and businesses has arrived! Watch as he destroys American lives to enrich his owners in China, Russia, and Ukraine. Marvel at his complete lack of economic understanding. Stand in amazement at his flowery use of racist language. The greatest failure of our time pushing the worst policies for the people possible. In all seriousness, you don't give the government MORE money when they have proven completely incompetent at the task. It's like a mechanic telling you he fixed your car but it's still broke. So instead of going somewhere else you bring him the car back and pay him a second time twice as much to do the same crap job. We don't need the government to mifdl man everything and reduce our quality of life while still not fixing a damn thing. ABOLISH FEDERAL TAXES NOW! Let the American people keep what they earn. Privatize education, infrastructure, healthcare, and police.

Typical liberal response. Throw money at the problem before making a plan.

““I’m not trying to punish anybody, but damn it - maybe it’s because I come from a middle-class neighborhood - I’m sick and tired of ordinary people being fleeced,” he said earlier this month.” Well then here’s and idea Mr.President; STOP SPENDING SO DAMN MUCH OF OUR MONEY!!! Just a thought. ——- This comment has been sanitized and censored by the “NewVice” overlords for your safety, feel safe good citizens.

So let me get this straight. These a holes lock us down, lose our jobs, then steals 80 billion from us to arrest us because we can't pay our taxes?!

So make everyone else pay more taxes because the rich still have loop holes to avoid paying taxes

Nice, more poor people in jail. Never once in history (atleast modern history. They did go after the mob like 50 years ago), has the IRS went after the rich and powerful. This increase in funding, just means they can spend $1,000,000 to go after someone making $25,000 who one time bought something online without paying sales tax...

The American families bill is an oxymoron. Firstly none of the money will reach people who most need it and secondly the Democrats have undermined families for decades through welfare bias and disinsentavising the conventional familiy.

I’m not a fan of any unfair taxation, but when the richest man in the world pays $0 in taxes there is an issue.

Is he stupid or something? I think ita pretty common knowledge that if you have that much money theb you either have it invested so it cant be taxed or you transfer it to a tax haven where it doesnt get taxed. More wasteful spending of American tax dollars just to enforce rules on the average American and not his buddy billionaires who pay his real salary.

All you Trumpers, look at the top marginal tax rate & the effective rate from the 40s - 60s. You'll find the rich had to pay more and, somehow, the country didn't implode, golly. It was the most prosperous time our country has ever known. Or look at it this way - don't you want all those rich elitist liberals to pay a higher top tax rate? Yes? no? Oh, you want to have it both ways... Cool.

So if they think corporations are getting out of 700 billion in taxes, just imagine how much they're already paying. Which leads me to the question, why is the average working schmoe paying taxes on work earnings? A drop in the bucket for the government, a chunk of change for the working class.

I mean I hate rich people and politicians alike. Have fun kicking each other around. Frankly I don’t care how successful you are. Even if it’s your company you don’t need to be pulling billions out of it, ever. There’s just no need. Even if you belong to a family in which one person supports a hundred people... nobody needs even a billion dollars... the fact some greedy little cretins hold onto that much money at any given time is insane.

Nice, even free market enthusiasts should be happy about this, you can't have proper competition if some companies have an unfair advantage by evading taxes.
