Mnuchin rejects Democrats’ demand for Trump’s tax returns

Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin on Monday denied a leading House Democrat’s request for President Trump’s tax returns. In a letter dated May 6, Mnuchin told the House Ways and Means Committee Chairman Richard Neal that he would not comply with the April 3 request, saying it lacks ’a legitimate legislative purpose’.

This is clearly part of a petty, poorly strategised attempt to do ANYTHING to discredit him. There was none of this crap with Obama. The republicans accepted they lost and went back to work to do their best under the system. As a result, when Obama was leaving office he instructed his staff to work with the incoming government so they could "hit the ground running". This lot of Democrats have zero respect for the system and for the public and as a result, I expect Trump's handover (after 8 years) will be made as difficult as possible if it's a democrat elected. If you keep it civil, both sides moderate each other and work together, even if it's on opposite sides of the debate, there is respect. Keep doing this and shit is just going to get thrown and people end up with Yaba. And the public end up with a dysfunctional government and lose out. Play nice or get the fuck out.

Last time Maddow pumped everyone up with what information she got and it ended up being a flop. I can see Trump just letting it build up to be another big flop.

Even though I'm really tired of the DEMs trying to subpoena all of this shit that doesn't matter, there is a great silver lining to the administration telling them no. It's time that a ruling be made on congressional oversight, and the implied power in the constitution. It's too bad we have to wait for it to reach the Supreme Court, but that's exactly where this, and the Barr refusal are heading.

I suspect tax returns are trumps favorite topic. he probably pays people to keep the story alive. it's one of those things that has zero chance of hurting him. it would effect election results as most people dont care and if his tax returns do get made public there is nothing in them that has not already been thoroughly investigated. meanwhile it keeps those who. are busy with such a meaningless demand.

The continued ridiculous actions of the left are solidifying Trumps reelection. When’s the last time you heard of a Republican switching to the Democratic Party?
