White House defies Congress on McGahn subpoena

The White House on Tuesday directed former counsel Don McGahn not to comply with a congressional subpoena as the chair of the House Judiciary Committee threatened to hold him in contempt. McGahn was directed not to produce White House records related to Special Counsel Mueller’s Russia inquiry, said Pat Cipollone, the current White House counsel.
