Pennsylvania school drops ’God bless America’ after pledge

A Pennsylvania elementary school principal will no longer say ’God Bless America’ following the Pledge of Allegiance. This comes after the district received a legal complaint on behalf of a parent who claimed that doing so broke the law. Peter Brigg, the principal of Sabold Elementary School in Springfield, would say the phrase after reciting the pledge over the loudspeaker.

Good, remove religion from the state. You wouldn't want it to say "Allah" so why would you want to create a precedent by saying "God"?

I agree that the religous part should be removed, however it should be replaced with the idea. For example 'May America stand as a greater whole'

Although i agree with separation of church and state i don't think saying "God Bless America" is that much of a problem. But they do and i respect their right to change it.

I'd leave it in and just make saying it optional. Everybody gets what they want and we don't have to rewrite history.
