White House requires Big Pharma to list drug prices on TV ads

The Trump administration announced Wednesday that pharma companies will be required to disclose the price of their prescription medicines in television commercials. The requirement is set to take effect as soon as this summer and will apply to drugs that cost more than $35 for a month’s supply.

As much as I think we need more transparency in our medical industry, could you imagine if they forced every other company to publicly reveal the price of their product? To be honest I think we'd be better off if we actually let the "free" market be free in healthcare and got the government out of it.

They shouldn't be making commercials in the first place.

even better they should list the various laws and regulations the government upholds which allow for companies to evergreen their patents, and the non use of approval reciprocity, thus making it difficult to get generics in the US.

Brilliant idea make Big Pharma reveal the cost upfront! The more transparency the better the decisions!

That'll show em! Now when people need to get the medicines they need to live, they'll find out from ads on TV, so they know how much they need to make a loan for before going to the pharmacy. Take that, Big Pharma!
