Venezuela lawmakers take refuge in embassies

Three Venezuelan opposition members of parliament have taken shelter in foreign embassies after losing their congressional immunity. They are among 10 lawmakers stripped of immunity after the Supreme Court ordered they be investigated for conspiracy, rebellion and treason. Two are taken refuge in the Italian embassy, while the third has gone to the Argentine embassy.

Venezuela has no choice but to honor the sanctuary of the embassy or risk war with those countries. Something tells me Venezuela is not ready for war so they're going to have to sit on their hands. That's even if they are still in embassies and not hustled somewhere off site Also trying to storm an embassy would allow other countries such as the US to step in militarily to secure embassies. Once there you never know maybe a rickochet hmm or maybe a stray bullet or the ole tried and true friendly-fire scenario might accidentally kill the current administrations leadership

Better hope they honour the embassy otherwise that'll be short lived.

This is exactly what the communist did when they took over Poland. Two-thirds of the intelligentsia were murdered. just another way of destroying a nation.

If your country is so screwed that your lawmakers are hiding in foreign embassies, MAYBE, they should just give the citizens what they want. Re-privatize your oil, and oust the totalitarian. Go back to what you were before your nation went to hell.

oops looks like the current irrelevant stooge president will have to start negotiating with the accepted president. China and Putin's Soviet union 2.0 may need to rethink their strategy or when rather than if a new government forms they could find any debt ignored as being illegitimate, most countries would back them.😄😄😄😄

The US is trying to topple the Venezuelan government because Venezuela is sitting on the largest proven oil reserve on the planet. The is just Trump's version of Operation Iraqi Liberation.

Send them up here to the American border. I'm sure the Liberal Socialist inhabiting the sh*thole of California will be glad to give them sanctuary. ☺
