UK gave $97 million in aid to economic powerhouse China in 2019, report says

Britain’s aid to China, which is the world’s second-largest economy, hit a record high of nearly £70 (a little over $97 million) in 2019, spending watchdog Independent Commission for Aid Impact reported. However, the ICAI report couldn’t find exactly how much of the money went to support human rights issues, like China’s persecution of Uighur Muslims and how Beijing handles dissenters.
