There are a lot of people who deserve to die in very painful ways. But minimum 5% of the people the US executes are completely innocent. So you need to be ok with that if revenge is that important to you. On the other side of this will cops who clearly murdered people be executed too? I thought everyone was supposed to be equal before the law. This link is a pretty clear example of a cop blatantly murdering someone. Does Trump policy make it so he will be executed? https://www.liveleak.com/view?i=5f6_1512716304

Putting the moral argument for the death penalty aside, how can anyone still support the death penalty at all with all of the faults, imperfections, corruption, etc., in our justice system? We already put tons of innocent people behind bars by mistake, but you think we should also trust that same system to snuff lives?! "right to life" hypocrites.

There's also the fact that lethal injection is an incredibly inhumane process. https://youtu.be/0lTczPEG8iI

100% these animals that have no respect for authority or our country should leave immediately or pay the price

I am a retired law enforcement officer. Understant that an attack on a law enforcement officer is an attack on civilized society. The " Thin Blue Line quote; represents law enforcement as the guardians of civilized societies, appointed by the people, via the people's elected officials. The alternative is ANARCHY! They are that, quote The Thin Blue Line."
Krešimir Turkalj 3 months
That still doesn't justify death sentence, nor will it solve problem. Well, maybe slightly as some criminals only go back to same life, but other than that, no.
James Harris (LAW ABIDING CITIZEN) 3 months
Based on your question and my response, consider this. An attack on a Police Officer can be considered an, "An Act of Terrorism." An act against the people, our society! Police misconduct is an important issue. Know this also, every profession and/or career field draws from the general public. Fact! Three to five persent of the bad directly correlate to the bad element's of our society.

How do you interpret this Biblical phase? He Who spills The Blood of Man, Shall have his Bood Spilt. By Man.

Only if there is clear evidence. It’s better to let ten guilty men walk free than execute one innocent one

No. Everyone has the right to due process including appeals. Equality before the laws means we not elevate the protections for officers over anyone else, murder is murder.

As long as cops are treated the say way when they kill innocent people.

I think it’s high time we look at criminal sentencing more as a protective measure for the public, and not punishment. Murders and rapists are too dangerous to be in society. I think we need to expand he use of the death sentence, not just for cop killers, but killer cops too!

Vetle Tollaksen 3 months
I am sorry, Trump. It was a bit rash of me, that comment. yes, I see there is a need to protect police, and the threat of the death penalty might alleviate the situation. But please do not move that far. because that really seems stupid to me

Vetle Tollaksen 3 months
I think that sounds dumb

I still really don't like the idea of the death penalty. I think anyone can find redemption, even for something as awful as murder. One can never grow past their sins if they're gone forever.

I agree. I've seen it happen. Saw at least one person undergo a complete change in prison to the point where his was given the ability to help other inmates with addiction problems.

And there are people who are evil. Few of them will live their lives in prison, and some people can probably sleep better because of it.

I say anybody who rapes or murders gets public execution. Have a quick speedy trial if found guilty without a reasonable doubt take their heads off or fry the bastards.

Your diversity bullshit doesnt add up. Is the life of the average depressed 19yo Mc Donald's worker more valuable than the man who works to actually protect the community he lives in? One less minimum wage worker doesnt make a difference. But one less person keeping the road safe and crime low does. Their lives are more valuable and the truth hurts, but you have to accept it.
Cory Pritchard 3 months
Cobalt, advocating for giving government the power to determine whos lives are more valuable is extremely authoritarian and definitely outside supposed conservative values.
