President Trump delivers tangential remark to press about anonymous sources.

In a tangential comment to press, President Trump addressed allegations that unnamed top officials were pressuring him away from any particular course of action. Specifically, the president noted that no media publication ever gave a name behind these ’top officials’ and implied that journalists or editors were inventing sources behind which to hide their personal biases and beliefs.

It used to be that "I can't reveal my sources" meant "If I say who I got the information from, that person will be in harm's way". Now it just means "I made it up".

I cant even count the number of "sources " stories that turned out to be totally BS in the past 2 years. so trump is correct if it doesn't have a credible source it is BS

there's a direct correlation between the increase of anonymous sources and the increase of such news getting debunked weeks or months later.

Left wing media lies so much that if anyone actually can’t reveal their name without being in harms way they will no longer be believed. Sad.

Nothing can be believed anymore unless you see it with your own eyes and hear it with your own ears, and even that won't be enough with the rise of Deepfakes. Get ready for the media to turn what's left of reality completely upside down once the election cycle really begins to ramp up. Who needs reliable sources when you can create a believable facsimile of your political opponent and make them say and do whatever you want them to.

I don’t know how it’ll happen but I hope journalists become at least semi apolitical again

Much of the news media’s language is deliberately ambiguous . “ Anger grows” “ sources have it” “ many people” and so on its designed to lend legitimacy to any narrative they want to punch. Left right and centre.

Trump is a dumbass in anyone that follows him or believes him is stupid and doesn't deserve the ability to vote but unfortunately they'd still get the ability to vote

Some journalists forget that the information they get from a news source should be corroborated by some other information. Protection from revealing sources was meant to protect people from retaliation so they could disclose things of importance to the press. I think today bad journalists use it as a shield to make speculation.
