UK watchdog launches probe into makeover of PM’s Downing Street flat

The UK’s Electoral Commission said it has launched a probe into how Prime Minister Boris Johnson paid for a renovation of his Downing Street flat. The watchdog said it had ’reasonable grounds to suspect that an offence or offences may have occurred.’ Dominic Cummings, who was Johnson’s top aide and now a critic, blogged that Johnson had sought to use potentially illegal donations for the purpose.
