Formula 1 racing legend Niki Lauda dead

Formula 1 racing legend Niki Lauda died Monday at the age of 70. Born in 1949 to an Austrian family, Lauda pursued a career in racing against his relatives’ wishes. He won the F1 drivers’ championship in 1975 and 1977 with Ferrari and in 1984 with McLaren. In 1976, Lauda had a major crash at the German Grand Prix and became trapped inside his burning car, leaving him with severe burns.
