Jamie Oliver restaurant chains collapse

Celebrity chef Jamie Oliver’s British restaurant chain has become insolvent, putting 1,300 jobs at risk. The firm said Tuesday that it had gone into a form of bankruptcy protection, and appointed KPMG to oversee the process. Jamie’s 23 restaurant chain and 2 other restaurants are affected by this move.

Went to his restaurant here in Brisbane, Aus (not sure if its part of the same chain). It sucked.

I remember the period when he was filmed crying crocodile tears and larping desolation at American kids failing to keep up with his healthy diet project overseas, and then turning the kitchen channel about a day later and seeing an ad with him and a bunch of kids surrounded by pastry, cakes, and all the garbage with him happy and smiling with the contradictory message. Had quite a laugh that day at this hack.

Haha such hatred for him. He's just a chef who tried to promote healthy food in schools. He wasn't trying to ban cakes altogether. I bet his restaurants fail because they're too expensive and he doesn't portray himself as a pretentious twat like most chefs, which the stupid rich Middle class like, and so was unfashionable. Thus, he had no customers.

Fuck him. It's not like he will go hungry. Not like he will lose his house. He can go preach somewhere else.

This is sad. While I've never been to one of his restaurants, I always liked him as a chef personality. It does remind me of a hilarious moment where he was trying to show how bad chicken nuggets were to little kids. He ground up some chicken scraps and formed them into patties, getting the kids to tell "eeeewww" all through the process. When he fried them up and asked who still wanted some, every single little hand went up. Jamie just had this look of hopeless disappointment on his face, it was comedy gold.
