Dutch minister quits over asylum seeker crime statistics

A Dutch junior justice minister has quit after his department came under fire for appearing to minimize statistics about criminality among asylum seekers. Junior minister Mark Harbers was criticized for categorizing hundreds of cases reporting serious offenses including attempted murder and sexual assaults under the heading ’others’.

The media has to characterize the view that allowing "asylum" seekers is not the answer to the problems that have caused about a third of the world to be trying to exit their native lands as right wing, extreme right and radical right. In fact, most people don't resent a few hundred "displaced" people being granted entrance to their country, but resent like hell the hundreds of thousands being let in to take their place as citizens or almost citizens. The world economy is in turmoil at the moment. The only certainty is the future is not bright. Multinational corporations are still raping the earth and enslaving the workforce. It is almost 2020. Most people have less buying power than they had in 1990. ( In 1990 I was financing a car loan over 3 years, today it is 6 years) Wage growth is stagnant. Cost of living is rising hourly. Governments, as the handmaidens of the multinational corporations which control the money, tell us that "The economy is doing very well". This just means that corporations are doing well. There is no wealth sharing by the richest companies and their owners. Why should the populace have to share the pittance dribbled down to them by the masters? Governments are standing on very shaky ground.
