Judge rules Qualcomm violated federal anti-trust laws

A federal judge ruled on Tuesday that Qualcomm unlawfully suppressed competition in the market for cellphone chips. The ruling, by District Judge Lucy Koh in San Jose, California, also found the chip maker used its dominant position to charge excessive licensing fees. Judge Koh ordered Qualcomm to negotiate or renegotiate its licensing agreements free of unfair practice.
