Judge says no to immediate release of bodycam video of Andrew Brown shooting

A North Carolina judge denied requests to immediately release the bodycam footages of officers in the fatal shooting of Andrew Brown Jr, a 42-year-old black man from Elizabeth City, while they tried to arrest him on drug-linked warrants. The judge said he believed the videos contained content that could harm the investigation and people seen in it, and blocked its public view for at least 30 days.

If you actually read the article, even the sheriff of that town wanted the video released. You can be as upset as you like with the ruling however the judge is following thats states law...which is his job so...and the "feds" ie congress could have stepped in with legislation addressing this issue whenever they would like. If it's such a big deal (and just to be clear I agree the video should be realeased) then maybe direct your energy at the federal level, not the ruling based on the current law.

In the world there is now one less deadbeat father/ drug dealer. The police in America are charged with taking rubbish off of the streets, if you don't want to deal with them well maybe you shouldn't be a g4rbage person.

That is the best way to broadcast to the world we got something to hide. If there wasn't then it would've already been released. Feds need to step in as once again state locals are allowing their arrogance to overload their integrity.

Eastern NC... Fact is there are a lot of worthless drug addicts and junkies out here. The ones pushing the drugs should be shot on site, no trial. And before the hippies go reeeEEEEE! I'm not talking about pot. I'm going to do what logical people do, wait for the facts and prepare for the riots. Innocent, riot... Guilty, riot.... Dog whistle, riot.

An untainted investigation is critical to the process of justice. This is a good decision despite how difficult it is to have to wait. Especially for those that wish to capitalize on knee jerk emotional responses.

Just another police cover up. This is why blue lives do not matter. In my opinion
