New Orleans street reopens 18 months after collapse

Officials in New Orleans marked the return of two-way traffic to a major New Orleans thoroughfare, a year and a half after the partial collapse of a hotel under construction at the edge of the French Quarter killed three people and halted traffic and commerce on a portion of the historic Canal Street. The city’s business district is separated from the French Quarter by Canal Street.
