Catholic Bishops debating calling on President Biden to stop taking communion

The Committee on Doctrine for the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops is reportedly debating calling on President Joe Biden to stop taking communion due to his stance on abortion. The USCCB is reportedly working on a document that would say politicians who are pro-abortion rights or publicly advocate for abortion rights should not take communion.

That's pretty bad when the Catholics are calling out your morality.😂🤣😂 Biden is looked down on by people that excuse and hide pedos.🤦🏽‍♂️

Probably nobody would care if Biden hadn't claimed to be a devout catholic. Supporting late term abortion was never going to fly.

Even with the separation of church and state I actually agree. Thats kind of part of the reason I dont go to church or take the body of Christ when I am a sinner and dont exactly believe in what they believe. So yea if he isn't following Catholic ideology why should he still be given the body of Christ?

What bull! This is an example of why we have the separation of church and state.

There is already an automatic, implicit excommunication for supporting abortion (Code of Canon Law (No. 1398)). Simple confession is not enough to come back to the Church, and obviously, outside the Church, one cannot receive Eucharyst. Denying Holly Communion in those cases, is for the good of the person trying to receive It (Corinthians 11:29). Bishops know it all, they just need to gather their ranks when going open, as it's going to cause uproar and repercussions.

I don't recall Jesus banning Judas Iscariot from communion ,even though he would be betrayed by him.

Just go to a real Christian church Joe. They'll let you take communion there

Only considering?

Should they not do the same to the 1000s in their ranks that molest children and have hidden sexual relationships? Not taking morality lessons from this lot. A bounch of hypocrites. Hopefully the Pope will intervene and put them in their place.

The Catholics need to stop sticking their noses into American politics. As far as I’m concerned, the Vatican is a foreign country, and you can’t represent its interests and those of the United States. A majority of Americans support some form of abortion rights, don’t like it, try to change their minds, otherwise, shut up. And before anyone starts whining about the nuances in the abortion debate, the Catholic Church’s position lacks all nuance, it’s irrelevant.

Call him on it, make a stand.

Maybe the bishop should not be a bishop because they kept all those priest in their position when they molested children.

I bet all the right wingers here fakery outraged by the fact that women can decide if they want to carry a pregnancy to term or not... never had children. On this topic men have no right to an opinion. Just stay silent and keep you dices in your pants. If you did that, there would be no need for any abortion at all. It Is not very difficult.

Republicans have been whining about big business making political statements when they don't support them, but we never see the same condemnation when it's in their favour. And the catholic church has been big business a long time.
