Boston arts museum bans 2 visitors for offensive language

Boston’s Museum of Fine Arts has banned two visitors and vowed to change protocols for guards after minority middle school students said they were subjected to racism by staff during a field trip last week. Principal Arturo Forrest said one museum staff member told students ’no food, no drink, and no watermelon’. Museum officials apologized to students.

Funny how Boston is something of a liberal haven, and yet it's supposedly riddled with systemic racism 🤔

Heard this on NPR and was baffled by how immediately the conclusion was reached. Without any corraborating accounts from other museum goers or the security guard themselves, the full conclusion is that this group of kids was harassed and spoken too with complete indignation. No question, that is inappropriate and reprehensible and should not be tolerated. BUT can we please establish that everything presented took place as described? Can we get a measure of the kids behavior in the museum? Were they loud and disrespectful (ya know, like kids...)? Did they even want to be there? Were they bored as shit and potentially goofing around to the point the security guards followed them to keep an eye on them? Please consider that there is a chance that this is not something malicious but something innocuous and unfortunate. Please practice intuitive reasoning that doesn't immediately assume people hate each other.

Ok this is news why? Hundreds of people get trespassed from property every day. “Breaking story: Business kicks out people who were being rude”. Stupid.
