Nationalist leader Marine Le Pen declares victory over Macron

Marine Le Pen’s far-right Rassemblement National party has won the most votes in the European Parliament election in France, two exit polls showed on Sunday. The IFOP poll showed the RN winning 24 per cent of the vote compared with 22.5 per cent for French President Macron’s centrist party. An Elabe poll showed similar figures.

Macron never won the first time. There was a little thing called election rigging which is being done by social media as mainstream media rejects certain parties and members - it needs to be called out as the election rigging it is.

The Eu has to change, that much is certain. A Frexit, while detrimental in short term would definitely benefit the union on the path to federalization. These elections will see many of the old haggards replaced by people who actually care about what Europe stands for and have the energy and willpower to stand up for these values. Eu with a conservative leadership is what is needed to reclaim its "soul".

I can assume all the negative comments on the EU are Americans who have absolutely no idea on how the inner works of the EU functions and only look at the surface like immigration and trade policies. In my opinion, if France (one of the original founders) actually goes ahead and vote to leave the EU, it might shake up the system to some degree, but this would in effect upset the balance between the competing policies between France and Germany. I know most of the negative comments about the EU is because it is a bureaucratic mess, but what makes that any different from the political nightmare that is the US federal gridlock.
