California man killed in apparent Hawaii shark attack

A California man died Saturday in Hawaii’s first fatal shark attack since 2015. The 65-year-old Thomas Smiley, a longtime optometrist in California, was swimming about 60 yards from the shore of Ka’anapali Beach Park on Maui when a shark attacked. The last fatal shark attack in Hawaii was in 2015.

If you pass a sign warning of sharks, and then proceed to get eaten by said shark... Darwinism has taken place and the world should rejoice as the average iq just moved in a positive direction.

An optometrist...? Wonder if he saw that coming? Too soon?

If he's a long time local optometrist in Hawaii, how is he a California man? or is the description just written poorly?

It's real simple, stay out of the water. Sharks are the assholes of the sea, going into their hood never ends well. Also, why aren't we killing them in mass numbers like we kill beautiful dolphins and porpoises? Kill the Sharks. Kill them all. Well all except the whale shark, they're not assholes.
