Australia pilots hit by lasers during South China Sea flights

Australian navy pilots were hit by lasers during flights in the South China Sea. Reports suggest informal Chinese militia vessels were behind the attack. Beijing has become more assertive in the area in recent times, stoking tensions with rival claimants in Southeast Asia as well as Canberra and the US. The helicopters were targeted during night flights, forcing the pilots to return to their ship.

It doesn't say what kind of damage the lasers do. Does it hurt? Or is it just like a bright light in your eye?

Australia needs to send a delegation to Taiwan to discuss and support them declaring independence from China, that would make get China's attention!
