Turkey prepares for its first full lockdown

Turkey is set to enter its first full lockdown of the pandemic Thursday, to curb a surge in infections and deaths. The new measures will be put in place until May 17 to fight a surging third wave of Covid infections. Turkey’s 40,444 new infections reported on Wednesday were the highest in Europe. ’We must quickly reduce the number of cases to less than 5,000 a day,’ the Turkish President said.

Holding Constantinople doesn't make Turkey "in Europe."

Where'd they get the 5,000 per day? Science? Crazy how politicians, especially in the US gave Trump crap for "not following the science" and yet they pull numbers out of their butt whenever they want with no science to back it up. Why isn't the number 5,453 cases or 4,876 cases per day? It's incredible we've been shamed into compliance because of "science" even the people doing the shaming aren't even following the science.
