Boris Johnson to face court questions about Brexit claims

Boris Johnson, a lead runner in the race to replace Theresa May as British prime minister, must appear in court over allegations he lied about Brexit, a judge ruled on Wednesday. This was in respect to comments about Brexit where Johnson stated Britain would be 350 million pounds a week better off outside the EU. The figure was a central part of the Leave campaign’s ’take back control’ message.

technically speaking what he said is true, as our contribution should be 18.6 billion (https://fullfact.org/europe/our-eu-membership-fee-55-million/), divided by 52 weeks is ~358m per week rounded to the nearest million. after rebates and counting EU spending on us though, we send more like 178m a week. so it depends how he worded it, whether he was 'lying'. 178m is still a tonne, he should have just said that
