Louisiana passes bill banning abortion after fetal heartbeat is detected

On Wednesday, the Louisiana House passed a bill which prohibits abortions after a fetal heartbeat is found. However, the bill also provides a exceptions to cases where the woman’s life is in danger or if the fetus has developed an anomaly that would cause it to be unable to survive after birth. Doctors found performing abortions after a heartbeat is found can face up to two years in prison.

It should be an issue on which the states decide, pure 10th Amendment. If people want safe legal abortions they can move to a state like CA, that has it written in their constitution.

Awesome, abortion has been addressed. Now let's restore Father's Rights and punish False Accusers 👍

"Trust women" to do what exactly? how is trust relevant to the pro-life/pro-choice debate.

While I think 6 weeks is too short by half, it is not impossible for people to find out before 6 weeks. I mean, it's not like they didn't know they had unprotected sex, or what could potentially happen due to that choice. All they have to do is take a test 10 days after, and they will know if they are pregnant, and they will still have 44 days to decide. That should be enough time to decide whether or not to help the special thing inside of them (the only "clump of cells" in all of creation capable of turning into a human life) become a human, or tale away it's chance at life. Or should people not have to be responsible at all for their actions?

Why trust women? You drive like shit.

“Life is more than a heartbeat” is such stupid justification for claiming that a fetus with a heart beat should not be considered alive and therefore can be aborted.

KEEP SAVING THOSE BABIES! ! ! ! So proud of the states that have stopped the slaughter. The pig left wants to murder American babies and import illegals, who they then can promise free shit and essential buy votes.

Gotta love that headline by Vox. When a bill that you vehemently dispise is written by a member of the political party to which you claim allegiance, that may be a sign that you might not be the mainstream of your party. Let's consider that perhaps maybe the whole "GOP is all evil, Dems are all good" thing is unrealistic. There are people who have principles and still disagree with you, Vox. You are not the height of virtue that you think you are. You're just a bunch of people that agree on nearly everything and have a large megaphone. That's all.

It’s almost like abortion is a hot button issue and we can’t solve it by screaming our personal beliefs at each other. Obviously the only long term solution to abortion is to allow exceptions for incidences of rape and incest (which this bill doesn’t do because it’s part of a batch of bills trying to incur a lawsuit), when delivery endangers the mother’s life, or if the fetus becomes dead inside the womb or will die shortly after being delivered. A heart “beat” implies a regular rhythm (babum babum babum babum). At 6 weeks, which is when the Louisiana bill would outlaw abortion, you’d be lucky to hear a regular rhythm for but a fraction of a second. It’s not a “heartbeat” at 6 weeks. Some women don’t even know they are pregnant at 6 weeks lol. Hey but don’t take my word for it, take the doctors’:

For the record, roe v wade doesn't give constitutional rights to an abortion. It gives women a right to privacy. Matt christiansen did a good video breaking it down.
