Disney CEO says Georgia anti-abortion law threatens filming in the state

Production of Disney movies in Georgia could come to a halt if a new state anti-abortion law takes effect, Disney CEO Bob Iger said on Wednesday. Signed on May 7 by Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp, the bill would prohibit abortions from being performed in the state after a fetal heartbeat is detected. Iger said the abortion law would make it ’very difficult’ to continue production in the state.

Wait. You can't make Disney movies for children unless some children get aborted during the production?

Is Disney planning to offer abortions on their sets? Then I'm not sure what the problem is.

In other news no one gives a fuck what Disney wants. They are assholes and nothing more. I mean the most racist, bigoted, morally bankrupt, and greediest company in the world tries to take a moral stance. Color me surprised. I would like to see SJWs turn against Disney. It will be glorious I mean all the evidence and blatant racism is there.

Anyone else noticing that during the filming of The Last Jedi, they filmed in 2 countries that have total abortion bans? What makes this different, Disney? Did you not care about this issue a year ago?

Remember when movie studios didn't care this much about politics as to polarize their audience?

Well there are a couple ways to view this... don't get pregnant and there isn't a problem and/or don't make movies that should be aborted because they are garbage. 🥴

From bgr: "Georgia is one of the latest states to pass legislation that will make it harder for women to get abortions, but Georgia also happens to be one of the countries where several movie studios shoot some of their pictures, including Netflix and Disney." "Georgia is one of the latest states..." "...but Georgia also happens to be one of the countries..." UMM... But getting to what I was originally going to say: a certain Jewish Lawyer (whose wife happens to be a doctor) mentioned today that Georgia is not the only *place* that has anti abortion laws, but Disney films there anyways. Food for thought.

I'm sure Hollywood would love to keep Atlanta from replacing them. As a Georgia resident I wouldn't mind if we lost the business because it's already getting pretty lefty up in there.

Give up your States rights and start aborting babies or we will punish you with economic measures. Sounds like massive corporate over reach to me . Time for a boycott maybe and remind them of the old wisdom of the customer always being right. I mean not really that clever a move really given that all the parents of their customers had made a choice to have them.

Free market. The corporation has its own preferred set of politics and they won't support states they disagree with on an ethical level with their business. This is exactly how its supposed to work. I basically hate everything about Disney right now with all the bullshit they keep pulling but I approve of them using their economical bulk to stand up for what they believe in - its better than them just being power hunger money mongers. If you don't like it, then stop watching Disney - btw they also own coke and fox, so you should stop supporting those companies too. That's how free market works.

I'm sure this will cause them to reverse their decision. I'm sure they value some movies being made in their state more than human lives. What morons. Hint: we don't want your murderous band of idiots coming to our state anyway. If we could pass a law banning Californians from moving to our states we would, but sadly we can't. They leave their shithole states after destroying them only to destroy the next state in every metric we care about. These slow minded leftist most closely resemble political locusts.
