NYPD apologizes for 1969 raid at Stonewall Inn gay bar

The NYPD on Thursday apologized for the first time for the raid on the Stonewall Inn gay bar 50 years ago. Gay rights advocates welcomed the apology, which they had sought for years. Police raided the bar in the early morning hours of June 28, 1969. At the time, homosexuality was criminalized. ’The actions taken by the NYPD were wrong, plain and simple’, said Commissioner James O’Neill.

I'd apologize too if I had accidentally kicked off the forced acceptance of this overt degeneracy.

well, if it was criminalized at the time, then they didnt do anything wrong. their job is to uphold all the laws as written, not just the ones they agree with

Why. There's no need to apologize

That raid was about organized crime controlling the bar and the illegal sale of liquor. God the left really has a way of manufacturing fake history.

Much like slavery, this is an issue for which no amount of apologies, commemorations, or memorials will be enough. So why bother apologizing?
