Attorneys seek light sentence for cop who shot 911 caller

Attorneys for a Minneapolis police officer convicted of murder after he shot and killed an unarmed woman asked a judge Thursday to forgo a prison sentence in lieu of an unusual arrangement. They propose the officer Mohamed Noor report to jail for a week each year on the woman’s birthday and the anniversary of her death.

BULLSHIT. NO ONE SHOULD BE ABOVE THE LAW. NOT EVEN COPS WHEN THE ACTION IS HORRENDOUSLY UNJUSTIFIABLE.

He should be locked up for murder because she had no reason to be shot, she had no weapon, was not assaulting the officer. Lock this shithead up for life.

First strikes me as too light. But second, seems like horrific psychological torture. Twice a year for the rest of your life, "I can never take it back. I can never make it right. I will never atone. I will never be forgiven."

"When Damond approached the patrol car, Noor fired through the car window, killing her." How about you DO NOT approach a patrol car, at night, after reporting a violent crime? Seems perfectly reasonable he shot her seeing as he was responding to a call of assault and had no idea who was walking up on his car.
