US employers added a weak 75,000 jobs in May

US jobs growth missed expectations, adding 75,000 jobs in May rather than the 185,000 expected by analysts. But the US unemployment rate remained steady at 3.6 per cent. 164,000 monthly jobs have been created this year on average, far short of last year’s rate of over 200,000 a month.
