Utah mother says officer pulled a gun on her black son

Utah mother says officer pulled a gun on her black son

A woman wants an independent investigation after she said a Utah police officer pointed a gun at her 10-year-old son’s head in what she calls a racially motivated incident. Jerri Hrubes said she saw a Woods Cross police officer pull his gun on her son, DJ Hrubes, who is black, while he was playing on his grandmother’s front lawn. Police said the officer mistook the boy for a potential suspect.

BLM quote is gold... we all know that they want all police dead... so why even ask them shit?

No one (BLM) waits for body camera footage or a full story, or statements f rom each party, they just want this officers head. Their (BLM) ranting and screaming seems to backfire to some degree each time. Sorry to refute the mother on does they boy look “18 or 30, no” from the picture provided I thought he was at least 17. Not saying anything was justified yet but with a developmental disability and sight issues he may have reacted in a way other people may not have, as the officer seems to have quickly left continue looking for the suspect.

Don't shoot him yet, he's not supposed to die until after he meets Forrest, and gives him the idea to get a shrimping boat while they're both serving in Vietnam.

He has the face of a mid-20 year old. I could believe it was mistaken identity.

The mother says, “I support all police officers. I see good in them,” hrubes said. “But, I do not support putting a child of 10-years-old at gunpoint with no explanation… Does he look like he’s 30? Does he look like he’s 18? No.” The answer is obviously yes, not even from a distance this kid looks 30

Would we even be seeing this story in the news, or having these conversations, if it was "Police officer pointed a gun a my 10yr old white son"?

This is sad. Police need to respect the authority they hold and use it only in the correct circumstances. This type of forceful behavior is not something citizens should have to deal with especially children. Police need to be more thoughtful than this.

in adrenaline the officer made a misidentification then corrected his mistake and even apologized... this is ridiculous.. kid doesn't seem traumatized and clearly understood it was an accident... be like the kid.. not blackliesmatter or this mother... doesn't matter the age... for a suspect anyway.

Sad story, but finally a level headed parent. "I dont want the officer fired, but I do want them to investigate this. At the moment I am not considering a lawsuit"

That's a 10 year? It looks like Gary Coleman at 35

i mean if a police man has to deal with some suspicion like what was described leave without saying anything... then only apologise because they are forced to.🤔

This is ridiculous why are officers pointing guns at people? why are officers pulling out fire arms at peoples’ residence? the BLM are the only sensible ones here. Like literally who wants cops on there yard black , Asian , Spanish, it should not matter. And for the mother to just let that man around her son again, I fear for his life honestly.
