New York ends religious exemption for school vaccinations

New York lawmakers voted Thursday to end the state’s religious exemption from vaccines that had allowed parents to send their unvaccinated children to school or day care. The Senate and Assembly votes capped months of tense protests and negotiations amid a measles outbreak in Rockland County and New York City. Gov. Cuomo signed the bill into law calling vaccines ’safe and effective’ .

It's absolutely nothing to do with religious freedom. No passage in the holy books ban vaccines, as they had no idea we could have done anything like it. This is anti-vaxxers too stupid to read real science killing others children by refusing safe, dead vaccines. I had my measles, as well as recently having my whooping couch as I am pregnant and a flu is organized during the season for me. I have not died or gained any other issues. They should kill their own children, not ours.

Way to take stupid measures to give up the most basic of freedom. The freedom of autonomy over ones body and what is put into that body. This doesn't even have anything to do with disease. The unvaccinated had nothing to do with recent outbreaks as the CDC report showed 57.4% of those infected had already been vaccinated. There is no part of this that is actually targeting stopping outbreaks as the CDC has already shown that even 100% vaccinated populations will still have these outbreaks. All outbreaks were traced to foreign travelling Americans or foreigners travelling to America. This is nothing more than a quick swipe for personal freedoms. The scary part is what are they really planning on using this new power to do since we know it's not for medical reasons!

That freedom of religion seems to be going well.

Religion is a massive problem in my opinion. BUT, the only problem WITH religion are the people using their religion for selfish purposes.

Is it just me or is it that most of these places that are having Measles outbreaks are in Sanctuary cities

There's another post here that mentions 54% of infected were vaccinated. Yes, that can happen. But the risk of it happening is reduced when the first iteration of the strain has no chance to mutate in patient 0, which is why vaccination only works when the super majority are vaccinated. No one has ever said this is a 100% guarantee that you will never see this disease again, but it worked for decades because it helped eradicate it (until it was reintroduced) by strengthening immune systems to more effectively fight these diseases off.
