Jury deliberations to begin in NXIVM sex-trafficking case

A jury is about to begin deliberating at the trial of the former leader of a New York self-help group that prosecutors say branded women. The deliberations in the case against Keith Raniere are set for Wednesday. Prosecutors said Raniere’s organization, called NXIVM, operated like a cult. They say he formed a secret subgroup comprised of brainwashed female ’slaves’ branded with his initials.

Prior to NXIVM, Raniere was a self-accredited self-help guru, and apparently his teachings were actually quite based. I only know this through heresay though... His teachings were basically that women get their self worth from their ability to care of others, while men get their self worth from their ability to protect and provide. He encouraged the sexes to embrace their natural tendencies, and to use them for the betterment of others. Unfortunately though, he didn't take his own advice. He stopped helping the lost and vulnerable and instead decided to use their weaknesses against them, for the betterment of his cock. Good hustle, but he took it too far with the brandings, the druggings, the forced cosmetic surgeries, and the blackmail.

If a woman created a group where men were encouraged to sleep with her and voluntarily brand themselves for her affection, would we even be talking about this let alone prosecuting it?
