US appeals to NATO allies to denounce Iran’s actions

Acting US Defense Secretary Mark Esper appealed to NATO allies on Thursday to publicly denounce Iran’s hostile actions. Esper also called for help moving tensions with Iran from a military path to a diplomatic one. Esper warned, ’No one should mistake restraint for weakness’. France voiced concerns about any possibility of a formal NATO role in the crisis.

It's merely a formality. NATO is militarily irrelevant. The Turks are the bulk of its fighting capacity and none of its members save them and Greece ever meet their treaty obligations.

NATO members are the ones that want to keep the anti-nuclear treaty going. The US is the one that broke its word to them. Good Luck!
