Andrew Yang proposes giving everyone $1000 a month

Andrew Yang, a long-shot contender in the Democratic presidential nominations, proposes giving $1,000 a month in cash to every American. ’It would be the trickle-up economy from our people, families and communities who would spend the money’, Yang said Thursday in Miami during the debate.

If AY gives every citizen $1000/mo., how long before it makes sense to everyone that it should be $1100, $1200, etc? With the current conflation of immigrant, illegal immigrant and refugee in some people’s language/thought process, and with the successful attempts to extend some amount of the voting franchise to these groups (https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/immigration/san-francisco-allows-undocumented-immigrants-vote-school-elections-n893221) and health care as well (https://www.npr.org/2019/06/10/731311422/californias-budget-proposal-would-expand-health-care-to-some-undocumented-immigr), how long before there is an outcry on humanitarian grounds to extend UBI to these groups as well? How will this affect the basic decision making calculus for those wanting to come here? Will more people be incentivized to make dangerous journeys to get here because of the bigger payoff if they’re successful? Is it more or less moral to incentive people to do things that are so dangerous?
