Europe has been hit with a record-breaking heatwave, with temperatures soaring past 110 F and already taking several peoples’ lives
same in australia, bunch of pussies
I guess it's because they simply are not used to it, but it gets a hundred and ten here every year and no one dies.
I'm in the Czech Republic and we've had temperatures upwards of 36/37°C since I can remember. I don't understand the hyperbolic histrionics that the media is perpetuating as if this is a new occurrence.
Oh look, a new "climate catastrophe" that sophists can exploit to push their corporate-environmentalist scam.
Climate change in action.
People commenting about how Europeans can't handle it lol... It's almost as if climates are different depending on where you are.
We get cold winters.
When I read "Europe plagued", it takes my mind into a completely different direction.
Bullshit. we've had the same weather for years. They just wanna push the climate change narrative.
It’s always in the 90’s here you guys can’t handle it being hot for like a week or two? Hell I think it was 107 as a high last year
not enough migrants.. everyone knows a bigger populace produces less carbon emissions /s
It's NEVER that hot in Europe for such long periods of time. Additionally, many many buildings and homes would need to be completely and totally renovated in order to install central air. Even installing window A/Cs would be difficult since many windows open sideways rather than up and down, many of the frames likely wouldn't be able to support it, and the power grids within older buildings may not be able to support it (not to mention the heat has already caused power to go out). So no, they aren't wimps anymore than people living in areas unused to rampant flooding are wimps because they can't stand a little water. If there were a blizzard in Austin, Texas that lasted for a couple of days, it would be quite uncouth for folks in New England or Norway or whatever to blame Texans for being unable to handle it. It's an extreme weather system that essentially shouldn't be happening, ESPECIALLY for as long at is has been going on. There is no reason to cast blame on others for the lack of preparation for the completely unfathomable.
To all Americans reading this:
Read headlines with politics in mind.
There are other things happening here in Europe right now that someone might not want everyone to catch onto.
Maybe if they back burned like they do here in queensland theyd be fine, but idk if the forests there could even handle backburning
normal June temperatures in my area often get into the 110s but we are having the coolest may in June in memory. not a single day in June thus far has gone over 85 and we were still getting snow in may.
sorry this is happening for them but thus far this has been the most pleasant weather we have gotten in this desert town in decades, plus enough rain to classify as temperate. hoping to have many more summers like this.
In come the religious American climate change denialist.
"Where's the evidence!"
"This doesn't count."
*moves the goal posts* "where's evidence of a county bursting into flames?"
*quotes bible* "God said we can take what we want from the land."
And people say climate change isn’t real
Global Warming!! Ahhhh!!
I do not get it, it was 36-37 in summer when I was a kid and all was allright! what changed?
Europe stretches from the north pole nearly half the way down to the arctic. "Europe is suffering heatwave" hahaha. Probably not even 10 celcius in Norway right now.
