Heavy rain triggers transport chaos in Mumbai

Monsoon rains caused wall collapses in the city of Mumbai that killed 27 people on Tuesday. A second day of bad weather disrupted rail and air traffic in the city, prompting officials to shut schools and offices. More than 300 mm of rain fell over 24 hours in some areas of Mumbai, flooding streets and railway tracks. The main runway at Mumbai airport was closed after a flight overshot the runway.
