Amazon confirms Alexa customer voice recordings are kept forever

Amazon has said it stores voice recordings and transcripts recorded by Alexa indefinitely, and even shares some of this data with third-party skill developers. The confirmation came to light after Delaware Democratic senator Chris Coons sent a letter to Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos requesting information about the company’s privacy and data security practices for Alexa devices.

They won't get much from me other than calling Alexa a bitch for not playing the song I want "Here is a sample of Love Rollercoaster by the Red Hot Chili Peppers. Would you like to sign up to Amazon Music to hear the full song?" No! I already pay for Prime! Play the fucking song Alexa! I own you!

The era of mass surveillance has come. My opinion is that technology has advanced so much that governments and tech companies can "spy" on you whenever and wherever. Privacy is dead.

I will never understand why people willingly put spy devices in their houses. For fucks sake, at least pretend to try...

The modern habit of incaution with regular instrusion into, and permanent cataloguing of, our personal lives is giving a hostage to fortune. Do not doubt these corporations will sell you up the river if requested by any government you fall afoul of to advance their bottom line without any hesitation.
