Hong Kong students reject closed-door talks with city leader

Student unions from two Hong Kong universities said Friday that they have turned down invitations from city leader Carrie Lam for talks about recent unrest. The invitations followed a pledge by Lam to do a better job of listening to the voices of young people. Student leaders said they do not think Lam is being sincere.

good don't fall into the same trap the yellow vests did. Macon offered "dialogue" but the whole thing was a publicity stunt to make him appear reasonable and sap the protesters momentum

i think they are being overly cautious, even though things are "complicated" there, the government isn't stupid enough to let them share the fact they were invited to then make them dissapear, that would just make them martyrs
