Google suspends trend alerts in NZ after naming murder suspect

Google has suspended an email alerting system in New Zealand following criticism by the government for publishing suppressed details of a murder case. NZ PM Jacinda Ardern expressed disappointment about Google’s failure to abide by a court order suppressing the name of a man accused of killing a 22-year-old British backpacker. His name appeared in Google Trends emails listing top search terms.

Has no one in this comments section heard of the concept of "innocent until proven guilty"? For the time being, this person (whoever it is) remains not a convict, but a suspect. To ruin someone's life via public humiliation, for a crime they may or may not have committed is not a commendable action.

Knowledge is power and us low life commoners aren't allowed any of that, especially when it shows the governments fuck ups and endangering our lives with their shitty immigration systems.
