Federal authorities are hoping to seize $12.6 billion in drug money after a hearing that estimated the assets that ’El Chapo’ possessed. Witnesses testified about what assets he collected while running the drug ring. Prosecutors will be moving to seize the assets.

I doubt they will, but if we could use that to secure the borders and prevent even more cartel crime. It would be poetic.

Sometimes I wonder if a purpose of the drug war is to allow massively inflated fortunes to build up, which can then be siezed.
