Starbucks barista asks police officers to leave because customer felt unsafe

Six Arizona police officers had ordered drinks from Starbucks before their shift when they were asked to leave by an employee. The employee explained that a customer had said that they ’did not feel safe’ due to the presence of police officers. Starbucks has since apologized for the incident, however this event has sparked a new hashtag: #dumpstarbucks.

Yet who would this millennial call if they didn't feel safe in any other situation?

Does this remind anyone else of the 1950s? Excuse me sir but your race is upsetting customers so you’ll have to leave.

Look, if YOU don't feel safe at a place YOU chose to be at, LEAVE. I'm fed up with these people who think everyone and everything should accommodate their every entitled whim.

I’m sure they if no cop was at the Starbucks and a crazy man with a gun came in people wouldn’t feel safe. But apparently propaganda from the media is too strong.

Those officers should not take 911 calls from that starbucks location. They wouldnt want to make the criminals feel unsafe.

Was the customer one who paid for food/beverage or was the "customer" just one loitering and using the bathroom + WiFi? Have to ask due to past news on Starbucks. I honestly want to know if Starbucks kicked out five paying customers who were also cops for someone not even buying coffee.

I thought you weren’t allowed to ask people to leave Starbucks anymore for any reason?

This literally just happened not long ago in the town I live in. A local coffee shop tried to host a ‘Coffee with a Cop’ event but it ended up getting cancelled due to people saying they wouldn’t feel safe. That met some backlash but there’s no plan on hosting another event... Some people are stupid as fuck. If you have nothing to hide from the cops you shouldn’t feel threatened.

The customer was free to leave at any time if they felt unsafe.

That's almost like she was confessing that there were criminals there who wanted "shelter" from the police. I stopped going to Starbucks long ago & now for sure I'll never go there again. Wonder what she will do if she ever needs police help? I hope she gets fired.

Starbucks refuse to support our military men and women and now they won't let police set down to have coffee. I only feel safe with police around.

If you are afraid of the police, then you are probably a criminal.
