Justice Department signals to court it’s still fighting for citizenship question

Following the ruling that the inclusion of the ’citizenship question’ on the census was not necessary to enforce the Voting Rights Act as well as a recommendation to the administration to come up with a new legal rationale for adding it, the Departments of Justice and Commerce are acting on President Trump’s direction to find another legal justification to include the question.
