Iran ready for higher uranium enrichment, American critic blames Obama’s policy

Iran is ready to enrich uranium beyond the level set by Tehran’s 2015 nuclear deal, just ahead of a deadline it set Sunday for Europe to offer new terms to the accord. James Carafano, a scholar at the Heritage Foundation, argued that if former President Obama’s administration had taken enrichment off the table, ’we wouldn’t be where we are today.’

Heritage Foundation, now there is a nonpartisanship source. Those sanctions Trump has unilaterally imposed could have nothing to do with it.

Bear in mind this is pathetic. Most nuclear power stations need uranium enriched to >5% to work properly so what they're doing is enriching to the bare minimum they need for efficient power production. Weapons grade uranium is >85% "enriched" (I hate that word, you're not making it stronger, you're removing the isotopes that don't fission as well) and they are proposing nothing anywhere near that. You can make a bomb with >20% enriched uranium but it'd be absolutely huge and impractical for use, except as a mine perhaps. I am absolutely not worried about Iran enriching to 5%. They can do bugger all with it.

You mean the 2015 deal that Trump unilaterally walked away from? That deal? The one that was working?
