Attorney General Barr says he will not recuse from the new Epstein case

Despite an earlier statement and conflicting headlines, Barr is not recusing himself from the current Epstein case after consulting career ethics officials at DOJ. He is however recusing himself from review of the previous Florida case where a plea agreement had taken place.

I submitted an updated headline and summary explaining that Barr is not recused for current case, but is recused from details of older Florida case. Waiting for some kind Newsvoice moderator to approve it. ;)

From the most recent article... The Justice Department clarified Tuesday that Attorney General Bill Barr will not recuse himself from the Jeffrey Epstein case, despite Barr saying a day earlier that he planned to due to his past legal work. Barr joined the law firm Kirkland & Ellis in 2009, which had represented Epstein during a separate case against him in 2008. But after consulting with career ethics officials, Barr will not recuse himself from the current case being led by the U.S. Attorney's Office in the Southern District of New York. The attorney general, though, will remain recused from any "retrospective review" of the 2008 case.
