Australia pledges vote on indigenous recognition

Official recognition and rights for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Australians has been a major debate. The government said it is committed to holding a national referendum within three years.

They didn't make the country so why should they have any special rights?

Love how the media calls it a miracle win... just because they got it completely wrong. Maybe, just maybe, mainstream media is out of touch with the people? However I'm interested to see what this recognition is going to include/entail... basically how much is this you going to cost the Australian people.

what a waste of tax payer money that could go to something like education, health services and housing that could actually help aboriginal people. The specific kind of aboriginal groups complaining about this will never be satisfied with anything "non aboriginal" people do.
