Hong Kong leader says extradition bill is dead

The extradition bill that sparked Hong Kong’s biggest crisis in decades is dead, the territory’s leader said on Tuesday. Carrie Lam added that the government’s work on the legislation had been a ’total failure’. Protesters remain unsatisfied with Lam, with one demonstrator calling her latest statement a ’play of word games’.
