This is fucking hilarious. They should have just let him put the question on there, now we're going to get an even more accurate count of the number of people. Well played Trump.

5D level chess shit Trump is playing at

Yes, an accurate enumeration using existing data, so there was no reason to add the question was there?

never made sense to add it to the census. the census needs to be as accurate as possible and adding such a question would just fuck up the response rate. there are better ways to count non citizens that doesnt mess with our once in a decade census.

Your logic is flawed, you demand accuracy yet assume it is directly related to how quickly it is done. That is not how you determine accuracy. You get accuracy by being as comprehensive as possible, not by leaving important questions out.

OneGuy. I think you're confused little buddy. OP mentions nothing about speed. 'Response rate' is how many people answer the census not how quickly they answer it.
ThatOneGuy WhoDoesThatThing 6 days
Yucky, you have a point, it sounded as if he was referring to it being done in a timely manner, still failure to respond simply gets temporary workers showing up at there door to get the answers. Them not answering the question isn’t really an option.

This is horrible precedent. Every census in history save one has had this question on some form of the questionnaire. It is absolutely necessary to ensure that the respondents are US citizens. That is what we are counting. This is not a census of other country's citizens. The census information is impossible to preform without this basic information.

The census is used to find out an accurate number of PEOPLE.... doesnt matter if they are citizens or not.
Rocky LeBlanc 6 days
Incorrect. It is not a system for divining how many foreign nationals are in our country. It is a method for collecting an accurate account of US citizens. Why on Earth would we want to know anything at all about random foreigners? Your logic is epically flawed.

Well good, right? Now counties and states can get more funding for those "PEOPLE" instead of the places that really need it for our homeless and poor.

executive overreach is getting out of hand. you really want to know perform a survey separate from the census
